STEPPIN' OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE!
You have noticed, obviously, that since the end of '09 I have really been STEPPIN' IT UP ... and have been consistently & persistently STEPPIN' OUT ... out of my own comfort zone! One of the biggest things that has bothered me from all the teachings I've received since hanging out my shingle in 2003 was ... sending newsletters out weekly. In working with my mentor over the last several months, I've identified numerous things that have "bothered" me in growing my business. The funny thing is that I didn't even realize they were bothering me.
I explained and rationalized them ... ration o' lizes ... 'til the cows came home! (Only we rural folk may understand that one, eh?) Well, with my mentor's help, the cows finally came home!

MONCTON "impromptu" SEMINAR
I want to share a group picture of an impromptu (very quickly put-together) seminar that I lead in Moncton on February 5th. I pushed past my resistance and took a golden opportunity to sing and dance, as I so love to do, for just 2 hours (+/-) speaking to the Top 3 Challenges of the group, providing 3 options (at least) for maneuvering around each of their Top 3 Challenges. A good time was had by all.

You may be unaware of the fact that I am leading a full-day workshop in Las Vegas on March 15th at the Electric West Trade-Show.
My "colleagues" are being invited to attend at a 20% Discount, so long as you constitute a "new registration." It would appear to me to mean that if you have previously attended the Electric West show, in other years, that you would no longer be considered to be "new."

A Huge Lesson I've Learned That Allows Me to Receive Huge Results
Things that bother us ... are the very things that we resist. The very fact that we're resisting them means that that is PRECISELY the door behind which hides PRECISELY what our hearts desire! Do you follow me on this one?
It wasn't easy for me to get my head wrapped around it, either, but here's the scoop:
Whenever you're digging your heels in about something, it's because your "gremlin", your "subconscious mind", is causing you to dig your heels in ... to stop you from going forward. The going forward is precisely what will take you into that which your heart desires ... and your "gremlin", your "subconscious mind" fears its survival ... and your survival. Your flourishing threatens your "gremlin;" and this is simply because you've never been there before. It's simply fear of the unknown!
I'll give you a clear, and hopefully simple, example:
When I first hung out my shingle in September 2003 my dear entrepreneurial friends were telling me that to become successful as a professional coach I would have to travel ... to Toronto and Montreal, at least ... because our area is so bloody conservative I would never make it otherwise.
I had just been travelling and living in other continents from 1998, by choice, and had become somewhat tired of travelling. I proudly and emphatically announced: I will not have to travel. I will become successful nonetheless. And I did become successful without travelling. I've "bragged" about that numerous times over the years. The funny thing is that because I was so stubborn about travelling I delayed connecting with the numerous people I'm now serving through MLJ Coaching International.
With my heightened awareness of my resistance, I could give you many examples such as this one, some I'm still experiencing to this day ... but I'll spare you. Suffice to say that since I resumed frequent travelling, with the pregnancies of my daughters in 2007, I've been seeing a lot bigger results!
I want to share my faux-pas with you, though, so that you, too, can surrender and side-step that which you resist ... because the mere fact that you are resisting stepping into whatever it is is proof that that which your heart desires is on the other side! Isn't that cool?

Last week I lead a half-day seminar at the Kingston Home Builders Association to help some folks get ready for this month's Home & Trade Show. As always, if the participants were looking for difficult, complicated, tricky-to-install instructions they were warned that they would have been in the wrong place.
In just a few hours we covered lots of simple tactics that will definitely result in the participants' receiving a much better ROI (Return on Investment) in this year's show than ever before.
